How your shop appears on WinesRate, what we collect, and how to correct it. We list prices from 362 US retailers.
We read the prices on your own website, store them with the date we read them, and show them next to other shops' prices for the same wine. A reader who clicks through comes to you to buy. We do not sell alcohol, we take no cut, and we do not hold your stock.
Listing is free and needs nothing from you: 362 shops are already listed and most do not know it. Every price we show carries the day we collected it, so a reader can see how current it is.
Our crawler identifies itself as WinesRateBot/1.0 and respects
your robots.txt. It reads product pages at a slow, fixed pace from a
single address, uses no proxies, and does not rotate its identity. If you block
it, it stays blocked - we do not work around a block.
If you would rather not appear at all, disallow WinesRateBot in
your robots.txt, or write to us and we will remove your shop.
Tell us and we will fix it, usually the same day. The common causes are a case price read as a bottle price, a sale that ended, and a product page that holds two different wines. All three are our problem, not yours.
You can also claim your shop's page to correct its address, hours and phone number.
We do not currently sell placement. If we ever do, it will be labelled as paid wherever it appears, and it will never change a price we show or where a shop ranks on a page. A price comparison that can be bought is not a price comparison.
Write to hello@winesrate.com for a correction, a removal, or to claim your shop. Publishers who would rather not be listed in our news section can use the same address.
Each of these is a count of our own data, on the day you are reading it.
We currently hold prices for 41,022 wines.
